Taco Salad

This is a delicious variation on a favorite entrée salad. Add or subtract mix-in ingredients according to your family's likes and dislikes, but keep the dressing as is. It's great!


  1. Heat the oil in a skillet set over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, chili powder, cumin, and oregano. Sauté for 5 minutes.
  3. Crumble in beef and thoroughly cook. Drain off fat.
  4. Stir in Ketchup and simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Arrange greens on a deep platter. Top with a layer of chips.
  6. Spoon meat onto greens and chips; top with cheese. Sprinkle with tomato and green onion.
  7. Blend chili sauce, mayonnaise, milk, and lime juice. Drizzle over salad and serve.

1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
1 cup Finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon Chili powder
1 teaspoon Cumin
1 teaspoon Dried oregano
1 pound Lean ground beef
1/2 cup Heinz® Tomato Ketchup
4 cups Mixed salad greens
2 cups Broken or small taco chips
1/2 cup Shredded Monterey Jack or Cheddar cheese
1/3 cup Chopped tomato
2 Green onions, sliced
1/4 cup Heinz® Chili Sauce
1/4 cup Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Milk
1 teaspoon Lime juice
